Introducing Modern Horticultural Technology to Farmers through Puppet Shows – ICAR-IIHR Bengaluru

Bengaluru: ICAR - Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, located in Hesaraghatta, is hosting the National Horticulture Fair from February 27 to March 1. People from different parts of the country are expected to visit and witness the event. This year, the preparations for the horticultural fair are in full swing, and a special attraction has been included—a string puppet show. As an innovative initiative, a puppet show titled "Arka Kranti" has been designed to educate farmers about modern agricultural practices and IIHR's latest technologies. This unique approach is meant to convey knowledge engagingly. The story revolves around farmers' lives and agriculture, developed by Dr. Ramya H.R., an agricultural scientist at IIHR. Ravi Belagere  who breathed his last early in the morning today was a multifaceted personality beyond the purview of Journalism. His contributions oscillated from Poetry, Short Stories, Novels, Translations, Publications and a host of periodicals. In fact, he rightly deserved the title "Alphabet Devil". Born in Ballari, then Bellary, hitherto in the then Mysuru state in 1958 he fondly used make fun of the climate in his home district by remarking: There are only two seasons in Ballari.
