Niranjan Mukundan Continues Medal Spree In Bergen Swim Festival

Niranjan Mukundan, the renowned Indian paralympic swimmer who has recorded an unimaginable feat of bagging 100+ medals at international tourneys, has continued his medal-winning spree. In the latest event at the Norway's Bergen Swim Festival 2025.

Participants from 16 countries: The Bergen Swim Festival 2025 championship had 16 countries and a mix of over 800 abled/para-athletes competing all around the world. This is one of the biggest swimming events in Norway every year. It’s famously known as the “Bergen Swim Festival.”


800 swimmers, both and para abled:
This year's competition had over 800 swimmers (both para and abled) put together from all around the world. There were also a lot of Olympic medalists as well as Paralympic medalists taking part in this competition.

Two silvers and one bronze for India: Niranjan Mukundan is very happy to come back to Norway and take part in this prestigious competition, winning 2 silvers and 1 bronze for India.


Four Golds, one Silver and two bronzes:
Niranjan Mukundan had finished off the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024 with 4 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze (a couple of seasons' best times and PBs). This competition had around 800+ swimmers from 12 countries competing to be the best.

Here are his accomplishments in the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024:


1. Gold in 50m butterfly, 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 400m freestyle.

2. Silver in 100m Freestyle.

3. Bronze in 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke.

Niranjan is inching closer towards the Paralympic “A” qualifying time in the 50m butterfly event.


First Indian Paralympian to join the 100 medal club:
Niranjan Mukundan has created a new history by becoming the first Indian Paralympian sportsperson to join the 100 medal club by winning 100 international medals representing the country. By doing so, he also has the unique distinction of becoming the first Indian Para Swimmer to harvest 100 medals at international tournaments.


A new milestone in Indian sports history:
With the accomplishments in the Reykjavik International Games 2024 Niranjan Mukundan had thus created a new milestone in the field of Indian sports history. This hitherto unheard record had also enabled him to enter the 100 international medal club winning 100 medals representing India.

Most number of Asian records: Niranjan Mukundan is a Paralympian who has represented India at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Apart from being the former Junior World Champion, the title of holding the most number of Asian records by an Indian Para swimmer continues to remain on his name. Seven Asian records include two long courses and five short courses.

Art Exhibition With Country Specific Themes

Bengaluru: The Podar International School in Kanakapura, recently organized its annual art exhibition to showcase the students' creativity through country-specific themes.
