Niranjan Mukundan Bags 4 Golds, One Silver and Two Bronze Medals

Niranjan Mukundan has finished off the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024 with 4 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze (a couple of seasons' best times and PBs)

Niranjan is currently in Bergen, Norway taking part in the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024 and won 4 golds, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.

This competition had around 800+ swimmers from 12 countries competing to be the best.

Here are his accomplishments in the Norwegian Swimming Championships aka Bergen Swim Festival 2024:

1. Gold in 50m butterfly, 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 400m freestyle.

2. Silver in 100m Freestyle.

3. Bronze in 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke.

Niranjan is inching closer towards the Paralympic “A” qualifying time in the 50m butterfly event.

First Indian Paralympian to join the 100 medal club: Niranjan Mukundan has created a new history by becoming the first Indian Paralympian sportsperson to join the 100 medal club by winning 100 international medals representing the country. By doing so, he also has the unique distinction of becoming the first Indian Para Swimmer to harvest 100 medals at international tournaments.

A new milestone in Indian sports history: With the accomplishments in the Reykjavik International Games 2024 Niranjan Mukundan has thus created a new milestone in the field of Indian sports history. This hitherto unheard record has also enabled him to enter the 100 international medal club winning 100 medals representing India.

Most number of Asian records: Niranjan Mukundan is a Paralympian who has represented India at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Apart from being the former Junior World Champion, the title of holding the most number of Asian records by an Indian Para swimmer continues to remain on his name. Seven Asian records include two long courses and five short courses.
